I woke up feeling like I was suddenly dreaming as I got dressed and ready for the day I would (hopefully) meet One Direction. I had already thought out many options, just in case I didn't get to meet them in a proper fashion. I knew it was my duty on behalf of fangirls and boys everywhere to get as much behind-the-scenes goodness and as many photos as I could. Before I left, I reminded myself in the mirror, "No fangirling in public. Be cool, Laura."
When I got to work, everyone was already buzzing. Obviously! I happened to hear there would soon be a rehearsal on the stage, so you better believe I made my way down there to get in position and wait for my chance to see them up close! When they arrived, it was straight to the stage, which looked amazing with a stack of tilted red phone booths for them to dance on. I watched with a perma-grin as they rehearsed, joking around, and dancing in between takes. Some of the contestants were in there as well, and the boys actually came down into the audience to say hello AND had even seen all of the performances, which they chatted to the smitten acts about.
I took my chance to go up to Harry and ask him for a photo and then to pull down his shirt to show off his new tattoos, which he did. I reminded myself to breathe and stay cool, but I'm not sure if it worked. I felt better as I watched the contestants fangirling as well. I won't mention names, ahem, but I will! Jennel Garcia, Fifth Harmony, and Emblem3, tee hee! Needless to say, there was definitely something special about these boys other than just their dashing good looks and ridiculously catchy music! I can't quite put my finger on it, but they were just so...normal...in a not normal way. They were, as Ally and Camila of Fifth Harmony put it, "So polite! And so nice!" That's right people, they somehow managed to be even better than we all expected! That NEVER happens!
So, just when you think it can't get any better, my boss informs me that we're going to be interviewing One Direction, and since my homies from the PreShow weren't around, I was going to be the one who got to talk to them! Needless to say, I was N to the E to the R to the VOUS! It was all just so sudden and I wasn't prepared. He handed me cards with questions and I stood by as I waited for the cherry on top of my day! It all seemed like a big blur as the boys walked over, and I honestly don't remember much except that I kept saying thank you at the end, to which Louis joked, "How many times can we say thank you?" And I replied, "A lot. There's five of you!" Luckily, we got it all on tape, so you can tune into the PreShow today and watch my video HERE!
Oh, One Direction, you came, you sang, and you made us all smile...and that's what makes YOU beautiful!
