Here are the new contestants going through to Boot Camp next week...
Trevor Moran (San Francisco audition, 13, Temecula, CA): Tonight's show picked up where Wednesday's episode left of hanging - with dancing boy Trevor on the floor with paramedics. He's okay, folks, just a little dehydrated from being over-excited for his big moment, and boy what a big moment it was. The second he started swaying his little hips to the tune of LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" the crowd went nuts. Should a 13-year-old be singing, "Girl, look at this body?" Hell no! But it was so wrong that it was oh so right! Pointing out the obvious, Simon Cowell said, "I'm not entirely sure that was age appropriate." L.A. Reid loved that he "owned the stage" and "rocked the house." That, he did. Demi Lovato was "DYING over here" (so were we!) And, Britney Spears thought he was "completely adorable." Four yeses and he's off to Boot Camp.
Owen Stuart (Greensboro audition, 17, Charlotte, NC): This young man is totally lovesick over being separated from the love of his life, Victoria, aka Tori, who is in New York, where he's from. "Being away from Tori is the absolute worst pain I've ever felt," he said. He dedicated "Airplanes" by B.o.B. featuring Hayley Williams to Tori, and all of the girls in the audience sighed a collective, "awww." His mid-song rap was directed at her as well. L.A. was impressed that his singing and rapping were equally on point. Demi said, "I think that every girl in this audience wished they were Tori right now because those lyrics were so romantic." Simon liked him, but Britney, not so much. "I thought it was a good performance, but you didn't wow me." Britney said no; the other three said yes. He vowed to not let Britney down and then called his girlfriend to say he's doing it all for her. Double awww.
Freddie Combs (Greensboro audition, 40, minister, Greeneville, TN): Freddie inspired everyone with his moving story about nearly dying in 2009 when he was at the dangerous weight of 920 lbs. He's exercised and dieted himself down to 540 lbs., but still needs a double-wide wheelchair to get around. (It took six crew members to help him onstage.) He dedicated "The Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler to his wife of 16 years (his "angel") and blew the judges away. L.A. called his voice "heavenly." Britney said it was "shockingly amazing." Demi called his voice "touching" and felt his emotions. And, Simon challenged him to do his next audition standing up, instead of seated in the chair. " In saying yes, he told Freddie that if they're going to move forward "we have to make a deal with each other that were both gonna work hard to sort this out because I'll back you if you back yourself." Deal done. L.A. added, "He challenged you to stand. If you stand I'm gonna stand right by you. It's four yeses."
Lauren Jauregui (Greensboro audition, 16, Miami, FL): "Whooo!!!" sums up Lauren's audition perfectly. That's what L.A. yelled after hearing her amazing rendition of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You." "Oh my God! That husky round voice is so mature. It was perfect. Perfect audition," gushed L.A. "You were so, so good, sweetie," said a charmed Britney." Demi was "impressed" and Simon said the maturity in her voice surprised him. "One of my favorite auditions," he said. Four yeses here as well! Is it just us, or does she remind you of the Oscar-winning Jennifer Connelly? File under: Gorg.
Jordyn Foley (San Francisco audition, 12, Brentwood, CA): Now for the second precocious kiddie (it's really a tie between dancing boy Trevor and Jordyn on that front, right?!) of the night, meet Jordyn! Decked out in lots of pink, glitter, long blonde pigtails, black gloves, piano socks, sparkly high tops (her lucky shoes), and a big Broadway persona, Jordyn made us laugh and giggle all the way to four yeses. Simon couldn't contain his giggles over this one, starting out the funfest by saying, "You're like Britney when she did hit me baby one more time, aren't you?" Britney's face was priceless. When asked what her debut CD would be called, she said, "Pink Glitter." Of course, she did! Silliness aside, she nailed "Tomorrow" from Annie - Simon's most hated song, but made L.A.'s jaw drop wide open when she went into a speech about how "tomorrow is always at hand and always look toward the future." Everyone laughed and even Simon knocked his own head on his microphone out of astonishment. That said, Britney said she had an "amazing voice." "Demi thought she was "too cute." L.A. called her a "bundle of joy." Those three said yes, Simon said no.
One last funny moment, after her gleeful audition, her gaggle of glitterati friends and family rushed the stage and one said to Simon, "Thank you for saying yes," to which he replied, "I didn't!" LOL, or in honor of our first performance of the night, LMAO!
Other highlights of tonight's episode included more flirty moments with Demi. She kissed a piece of paper she signed for a birthday boy in the audience, prompting Simon to say that she needs a "very cold shower." And, before hottie Owen's audition, Demi could be seen impatiently saying, "Come out! Come out already!" Simmer down, Demi!
The montage of bad auditions delivered more one-liners, including: "Years ago I sat on two cats and that's what it sounded like. It was painful." (Simon) "Singing is definitely not your thing, sweetie." (Britney) "It was like a nose dive with a cork screw." (Demi)
