Her inspiration in life and music comes from Lauryn Hill and one special song in particular that is about the former Fugees' star's decision to have her first child at a young age. Paige, a single mom to 3-year-old daughter Jade, explains, "A lot of her songs I can relate to and I've lived. 'To Zion' I absolutely loved and it's talking about how people told her she's gonna ruin her career if she has a child and especially as a young mother you face that all the time. People are like, 'You're just so young. Wait. Don't do it.'"
But like Lauryn Hill, Paige went on with motherhood with the song giving her the strength to move on. "That song taught me to be me and listen to my heart and because I did so I have my daughter who's the most special gift I could ever ask for," she says.
Now a Top 12 finalist as one of Demi Lovato's Young Adults, Paige is doing it, as she says, for her daughter. She's given it her all at Auditions with Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down," delivered an impassioned version of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," left it all on the floor with Chris Brown's "Turn Up the Music" at Judges' Homes, and truly showed her pop star power and fashion sense at Live Shows with Haddaway's "What is Love."
"I want to be a positive role model," she says. "This is what I was meant to do." Also on Paige's To Do list, other than winning THE X FACTOR, is to start her own clothing line as her passion for fashion is matched by her passion for performing.
"I do need to push more. I need to push my limits and see how far I can go," adds Paige.
