In fact, he was downright pissed on last night's episode. When he received the call from the producers with the news, he moved the receiver away from his ear and said, "The what?" before slamming it down several times. To his room of peeps, he said, "Everybody's got to leave I don't want to talk to y'all... Not the Overs. Everything else I would've been happy with."
When our cameras caught up with him at Judges' Homes he was still a bit irked. "Make no mistake. I did not want the Overs and I'm not that happy about it even right now, but there is one contestant in this category that is likely to win and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that particular contestant has every opportunity to win the money," he said.
But, L.A., why so mad? He explained, "I have a particular fondness for young artists. I meet artists when they're young. I met Ciara when she was 17 years old, maybe 16, and I met Justin Bieber when he was 14. I love young artists. It's just my passion. I don't know if it was by design or if it just worked out that way, but however, I've had more success with young artists than I've had with adults."
That said, he did reveal that out of his group of Over 25s, which includes Vino Alan, Daryl Black, Jason Brock, David Correy, Tara Simon, and Tate Stevens, one stands out.
"I felt that there was one contestant who really left it all on the stage, right? I mean, really just threw himself into it. And just gave it all and I was very, very impressed and actually turned around because I came into this particular segment of the show believing that I was gonna send this guy home. And he completely turned me around, now not only am I a believer but really feel some passion for this particular contestant," he revealed.
Tune in TONIGHT at 8/7c on FOX for the second Judges' Homes episode to find out which of the Over 25s he's talking about!
