"Yo, there was this one [act] that was freakin' insane," he explained to us. We'll just let will.i.am tease us: "[The act's] freakin' crazy, out of this world, crazy dope. You know what dope is backwards? Epod. It's like excellent pod, energizing pod...This [act] knockedmeout.org. hashtag jaw drop."
As for the whole of Britney's acts, he said, "Some of the talent I've seen so far has blown me away-they're out-of-this-world good."
Yeah, will.i.am's pretty stoked to be beside Brit this week at her Malibu, CA, home. And, he was quick to say yes to the guest mentor gig as well. "When Britney asked me to come help mentor talent in the Judges' Homes round, it was an easy 'yes,'" said will.i.am. "I was like hell, yeah, what are you crazy?" The two collaborated on a track on his next record #willpower.
As a member of the wildly successful hip-hop/pop group the Black Eyed Peas, he's helped sell nearly 37 million records worldwide. According to SoundScan, the Black Eyed Peas are the second best-selling artist or group for downloaded tracks, including such hits as "My Humps," "Where Is the Love?" "Let's Get It Started," "I Gotta Feeling," and others.
will.i.am was also quick to defend Britney after Simon Cowell called the pop princess mean. "Simon said that?! Listen, how many times you gotta know, it ain't what Simon says. Simon just saying whatever he got to say to throw people off because he's the mean judge. Britney ain't mean. She's just tough," he said.
Tune in TONIGHT and next WEDNESDAY at 8/7c on FOX for more from the Judges' Homes.
